Hello! My name is Amr Badawy. simply a guy who is crazy about traveling & adventure. I have visited more than 36 countries in the last 10 years and met 100s of travelers who have inspired me to adore traveling, adventure, and wandering to discover the world in a different way. I have found out that my annual leave vacations are not enough to satisfy my wandering nomadic life. After working in the finance & investment field for more than 12 years, I have decided to quit my job and do what I am passionate about the most; to take my hobbies to the next level and be a full-time travel writer & photographer. That’s why i have established this blog to share my experience with everyone.

What does it mean “Couch Traveler”? Well, it has a double meaning!

First, I will be the couch traveler, because I usually travel to discover the world using the free hospitality website “couchsurfing” …. I have been using  it in  my home town Cairo, Egypt for more than 8 years, and I have hosted more than 200 travelers from everywhere around the globe. and I have surfed lots of couches during my travels before …. I stayed with locals in their homes …. I slept on their couches …. I was well introduced to their culture  and life in a different way …. instead of staying in hotels and know the countries’ culture from its surface. 

Second, you also will be a couch traveler through this website …  you will travel with me everywhere while you are sitting comfortably on your home’s couch. And you will learn how to travel easier, better, and cheaper to any place in the world. I have made this website so I can blog & vlog about all my travels and allow you to see the cultures of the world through my eyes ….  and most importantly to transfer to you my travel knowledge, which will help & inspire you to travel and see the world with your own eyes, not only from your “couch”.

How this website will be useful for you?

First, travel tips page contains useful blogs & vlogs about  general travel tips …. how to get the visa, find cheap tickets, find suitable accommodation, useful travel websites, travel mobile applications, and so on.

Second, destinations page will contain world map marked with all the  places I have visited. It will include some photos and highlights of every place I have visited before 2016, but going forward I will be blogging with much more details about every destination; either through blogs or vlogs.
